About the festival
The inaugural AI_Frica edition drew more than 350 submissions from over 14 countries and published awards spanning short film, animation, documentary, music video, experimental work, education and African cultural storytelling.

Entry criteria
2025 published terms
Open without nationality, age or professional restrictions. Films must use AI in at least one part of production, run no longer than 15 minutes, include English subtitles, disclose how AI was used and be covered by the necessary rights and permissions.
An independent jury makes final selection decisions. Entries can be disqualified for copyright violations, harmful material, plagiarism or misrepresentation of AI use.
