About the programme

The shared deadline makes Gen:48 a useful measure of execution as well as invention: every selected work is made under the same time pressure and creative brief.

How selections are made

Organizer-published criteria · Published Gen:48 official rules

Eligibility

Open where legally permitted to entrants aged 18 or older, with one entry per person. The published challenge requires a one-to-four-minute original film created during the 48-hour window, with Runway-generated video comprising at least 75% of its runtime.

Selection process

Runway selects finalists, a sponsor or challenge jury determines the Grand Prix, and public voting determines the People's Choice plus second through fifth places.
