Joan and the End of the World

My name is Joan. I am seventy years old, and I am going to tell you how I saved what was left of humanity. It took a while. Neither was Mage, though he never said so. Earth is gone. The last of us drift through space on hundreds of Arcs, running out of time. I grew up on one of those ships, raised by two scientists and a robot eight feet tall who learned to find me by the sound of my footsteps.
